Off-Season Workouts

With the summer baseball season coming to a close and the off-season right around the corner for most youth baseball players, we’re beginning off-season  strength and conditioning workouts for ages 9-14 years old. At this time of the year upon the end of the summer baseball season, it’s a good idea to unwind and take some time off to recharge and recuperate. At the same time, it’s a good idea to get evaluated on your weaknesses and limitations so we can go into the off-season with a proper comprehensive strength and conditioning program that addresses our weaknesses and limitations.

I have no doubt the summer baseball season has exposed a lot of those factors on the baseball field and will be addressed from a skill perspective. The question you have to ask yourself as a player is, what can I do to improve my physical performance to gain the competitive advantage on the playing field.

At Top Performance Strength, our strength and conditioning programs are structured, organized, and comprehensive, meaning we address all physical qualities that will help baseball players improve and gain the competitive advantage. We place a premium on addressing the fundamentals of athleticism and teach proper form and technique first and foremost. We need athletes to acquire the skill of moving properly to set them up for long-term success. This means we take the time and put forth the effort in teaching them how to squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, sprint, perform jumps and medicine ball throws, etc. at a basic fundamental level prior to making advancements in their training programs.

Stay tuned as I will continue to outline examples of how we accomplish improving these athletic qualities in the weight room and build success over time.
